Anacoco Music Festival Plans an Evening of Food, Performances and Fireworks
The third Faith & Family Freedom Music Fest was scheduled for June 30, 2024, on the grounds behind First Baptist Church of Anacoco. The free event's lineup included Chosen Road, Point of Grace, the Jason Lovins Band and headliner Mac Powell, with music beginning at 5 p.m.
Food trucks and other vendors were part of the evening, including barbecue, island-style food, hot dogs, Italian ice and lemonade. A long outdoor serving window also calls for dependable cold storage for perishable ingredients before they reach the grill or serving counter.
Parking was arranged at the elementary and high schools, with golf carts shuttling visitors to the festival grounds. Organizers planned fireworks after the performances. The previous year's event had drawn almost 3,000 attendees, according to the local preview, making the festival a substantial gathering for the Anacoco community.

Hurricane Laura Leaves Anacoco Waiting for Power Repairs
The Anacoco area remained part of the utility restoration effort after Hurricane Laura struck Louisiana in August 2020. SWEPCO's September 6 update included Anacoco along Highway 111 West in its remaining Hornbeck-area restoration schedule, with estimates applying to customers whose buildings could safely receive power.
A separate LSU AgCenter account described an Anacoco beekeeper losing 13 hives when a large oak fell onto his apiary. He reported that downed power lines kept the road closed for four days. Those overlapping access and electrical problems are the sort of interruption that can put independently powered refrigerated trailers into a food business's recovery plan.
Damaged trees, blocked roads and repairs to the electrical network continued to disrupt daily life while crews worked through the affected communities.

Anacoco's Spring Festival Begins With a Parade From the High School
Anacoco's Spring Festival and Parade put a community celebration on the village calendar for April 27, 2024. The parade was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Anacoco High School, 4740 Port Arthur Avenue, with float entries and vendors coordinated through City Hall.
The published announcement offered a $100 cash prize for a float, giving local groups another reason to take part. For a food vendor preparing for a festival day, cold storage for perishable ingredients belongs alongside the serving setup and supplies. The event's format brought a parade and vendor activity together in one local gathering, inviting families to spend part of their Saturday in the village.

Memorial Day Storms Bring Wind and Hail Through Anacoco
Anacoco was among the communities hit by a succession of severe storms over the 2025 Memorial Day period. The Vernon Parish Journal reported strong winds and penny-size hail on Monday morning, followed by another round of wind and rain across western Vernon Parish early Tuesday.
The wider storm system disrupted electricity across the region, and utility crews were working on repairs. For an affected restaurant or community kitchen, maintaining cold storage can become an immediate concern while staff wait for reliable service to return.
Anacoco, Leesville, Hornbeck, Evans and the Toledo Bend Dam area all appeared in the report of Tuesday's storms. The repeated rounds of weather made recovery more complicated than a single isolated shower, with saturated low-lying areas also drawing attention as further rain remained in the forecast.

Thunderstorm Winds Near Hornbeck on March 4, 2025
On March 4, 2025, strong thunderstorm winds generated a local storm report in the Hornbeck area, in Vernon Parish. The local account states, “A large tree limb was broken by a wind gust from a severe thunderstorm.” Food businesses experiencing equipment or utility trouble could need emergency refrigerated trailers during their wider cleanup.

Thunderstorm Winds Near New Llano on April 13, 2019
NOAA documented strong thunderstorm winds about 0.91 miles northeast of New Llano on April 13, 2019, in Vernon Parish. NOAA’s event narrative records, “A shed was damaged and near by utility poles were broken in Leesville.” For food operators, any accompanying loss of electricity would bring cold storage into the recovery plan.
Plan around the Anacoco address.
A project in Anacoco starts with the same practical questions: which functions need to remain available, how the trailer can reach its placement, and how utilities will connect.
- Share the site and storage needs
Send the address, start date, expected rental length, what needs to stay cold, its holding temperature, and the approximate quantity.
- Review the unit and site requirements
We match a refrigerated trailer or container to the product and space, then review power, placement, access, and any mobile kitchen or dishwashing support.
- Confirm the quote and delivery plan
Availability, rental terms, delivery, and setup are confirmed in your quote before the unit is scheduled.

The Anacoco area saw strong thunderstorm winds on April 28, 2024, according to the storm report for Vernon Parish. Thunderstorm Winds Near Fisher on April 13, 2019
The Fisher area saw strong thunderstorm winds on April 13, 2019, according to the storm report for Sabine Parish. The archived observation reads, “Throughout the entire path of the downburst, the trees/metal roofing fell in a north northeasterly direction.” For a business arranging portable refrigerated trailers, road access would remain part of the delivery plan during the disruption.

May 2024 Storm Damages Power Poles Around Anacoco
A severe thunderstorm damaged electrical infrastructure in the Anacoco area on May 30, 2024. The National Weather Service storm reports recorded numerous broken power poles and trees on lines, based on information supplied by a utility company.
Other reports from the same storm described trees down along Highway 111 between Toledo Bend Dam and Anacoco. For a kitchen affected by damaged power lines, emergency cold storage depends on a dependable power source while the utility network is repaired.
The local reports are a reminder that a short storm can leave a much longer restoration job. Clearing trees and repairing poles are physical tasks that have to be completed before damaged sections of the electrical system can return to service.
