A Tornado Damaged Industrial Roofs Along Atando Avenue
A tornado touched down along North Graham Street near Moretz Avenue in Charlotte on March 16, 2026. After snapping small trees, it moved northeast and reached its greatest intensity around Atando Avenue, where metal peeled from an industrial building and a large section of another warehouse’s roof came off.
Surveyors estimated peak winds near 85 mph. Roof damage can expose stored goods and disrupt interior operations, including cold storage where a building handles perishable products. Pine trees also snapped behind the warehouse. The tornado weakened as it moved toward Drury Drive, leaving smaller limbs down before dissipating in a residential area.

Charlotte Hunger Hub adds a commercial kitchen to expanded food storage
Nourish Up’s Hunger Hub in Charlotte reached another development milestone in July 2026 with the opening of its commercial kitchen. A project account from financing partner TD described capacity for up to 2,500 meals a day when needed. The 90,000-square-foot Carrier Drive facility brings meal preparation, grocery distribution, offices and community space together.
Cold storage is a substantial part of the expansion: the hub provides ten times the capacity of the organization’s earlier setup. Nourish Up had moved operations into the building in April 2024 while renovation continued, then developed the kitchen as a further phase. The resulting arrangement connects incoming food, volunteer packing and prepared meals within a shared facility serving Mecklenburg County residents.

Taste of Charlotte puts more than 100 menu samples on Tryon Street
Taste of Charlotte returned to Uptown’s Tryon Street on June 6–8, 2025, with more than 100 menu items advertised for sampling. The festival stretched from Brooklyn Village Avenue to Trade Street and combined restaurant food with live music, shopping and children’s activities. Admission was free, while festival coins were used for food and beverage purchases.
For participating restaurants, small tasting portions still involve a substantial preparation routine: ingredients have to move from cold storage to cooking and then to the sampling line. Friday and Saturday’s published hours extended from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a shorter Sunday schedule. That gave Charlotte’s food businesses a long weekend to introduce their menus to visitors in the city center.

How much does a refrigerated trailer rental cost in Charlotte?
Refrigerated trailer pricing is starting at $1,295 for a 1–6 day rental for the smallest trailer, and the same starting prices apply to Charlotte projects. Delivery, setup, site work, taxes, and the complete rental term are confirmed in your quote.

Call 888 385-5513 any time. Emergency deployment is coordinated 24/7: share the Charlotte address, the holding temperature, the quantity of product, and whether power is available, and the team will confirm the quickest workable option. North Carolina sites can face hurricane-season outages and mountain winter storms, so ask about generator connections before the product is at risk.
Do I need a permit to place a refrigerated trailer in Charlotte?
Requirements depend on the exact site and the local jurisdiction, so check with Charlotte's town or city office and Mecklenburg County before dispatch. Unit dimensions, electrical needs, and placement details are shared with you to support that conversation, and any required approval stays your responsibility to confirm.
Should I choose a trailer or a container for my Charlotte site?
Compare the stock you need to hold, the required temperature, the placement area, and door access. Trailers and containers are separate formats, and a mobile kitchen or dishwashing trailer can be reviewed alongside the refrigerated unit when the site also needs cooking or ware washing.
