Lancaster Distribution Center Adds Perishable-Goods Capacity to Dallas County
Dallas County gained another large grocery-distribution facility in July 2024 when Walmart opened a 730,000-square-foot perishable center in Lancaster. The DFW Inland Port announcement placed the building about 15 miles south of Dallas at 940 East Pleasant Run Road.
Fresh produce, eggs, dairy products, flowers and frozen goods were among the items destined for the site, making cold storage a central part of its daily operation. More than 500 full-time employees were based at the new center. Walmart’s own supply-chain update described Lancaster as its second high-technology perishable distribution center to ramp up operations. The project followed a separate fulfillment facility opened in Lancaster in 2023, adding another specialized building to the county’s logistics base.

Flash Flooding Closed an Interstate Ramp in Downtown Dallas
Flooding closed the eastbound Interstate 30 ramp to Interstate 45 in Dallas on November 20, 2025. High water was also reported on downtown Interstate 35E ramps as thunderstorms crossed northern and central Texas that morning. Any refrigerated trailers using those interchanges would need the same open, safe connections as other freight vehicles before continuing toward a delivery site. The closed I-30 ramp and water on I-35E affected separate parts of the downtown road network, creating potential changes to commercial routes even when a destination lay outside the flooded section.

State Fair of Texas Builds a Twenty-Four-Day Food and Entertainment Season
Dallas’ Fair Park became the setting for the State Fair of Texas’ announced September 25–October 18, 2026, season. The organizer’s calendar covered twenty-four days, with longer Friday and Saturday hours and a mix of food, midway attractions, music and agricultural activities.
A food operation lasting several weeks depends on repeated preparation and deliveries, with cold storage holding perishable stock before each day’s service. The fair’s nonprofit mission links the public celebration to agriculture, education and community involvement. Its annual event is also its largest fundraiser, supporting work that continues after the gates close. For concessionaires and visitors alike, that extended schedule turns the fair into a sustained period of activity within the historic park.

Can you also serve Highland Park and other nearby places?
Yes. Places such as Highland Park (about 3 miles), University Park (about 4 miles), and Balch Springs (about 10 miles) can be planned together with a Dallas rental, and the team can review one project that spans more than one address. Confirm each site's access, power, and dates in your quote.

Call 888 385-5513 any time. Emergency deployment is coordinated 24/7: share the Dallas address, the holding temperature, the quantity of product, and whether power is available, and the team will confirm the quickest workable option. Texas sites can face hurricane-season outages, winter freeze outages, and summer heat, so ask about generator connections before the product is at risk.
Do I need a permit to place a refrigerated trailer in Dallas?
Requirements depend on the exact site and the local jurisdiction, so check with Dallas's town or city office and Dallas County before dispatch. Unit dimensions, electrical needs, and placement details are shared with you to support that conversation, and any required approval stays your responsibility to confirm.
Should I choose a trailer or a container for my Dallas site?
Compare the stock you need to hold, the required temperature, the placement area, and door access. Trailers and containers are separate formats, and a mobile kitchen or dishwashing trailer can be reviewed alongside the refrigerated unit when the site also needs cooking or ware washing.
